Kites
The kites documented here were created during a residency at the Art Gallery of Windsor in Ontario Canada. This part of my research into kites leading up to a residency in New Plymouth New Zealand where I will be applying the knowledge and skills learned to the creation of a hybrid electronic kite. residency info ![]() classic Eddy Bow kite. materials: dowels, string frame, pastic garbage bag, clear packing tape. dimensions: 36"x 34" I found out after this photo was taken that it flys perfectly without a tail. The small one was so much fun to fly, I scaled up the dimensions to make this one. materials: crushed packing paper, dowels, craft glue, string frame, Krylon spray paint. dimensions: 30"x 9" ![]() based on an English Pear Top. I recycled some fiberglass and carbon rods from a commercial store display kite. materials: asian craft paper, craft glue, Sevelon line frame, graphite and fiberglass rods. dimensions 30"x 12" ![]() My own design after making several kites from published plans.
